Matt Anderson signs one-year deal with Toronto Marlies

American defenseman Matt Anderson has left MoDo Hockey after half a season and signed a one-year contract with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.

Anderson was presented by the Örnsköldsvik club in December and made his debut after the new year once paperwork and equipment delivery were completed.

He appeared in 19 regular-season games and 10 playoff contests for MoDo in the HockeyAllsvenskan.

The Marlies are familiar to Anderson, who previously played seven games with the team. Most of his professional career has been spent in the ECHL.

The move returns the defenseman to North America following his stint in Sweden.
