Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Max Starks shared his thoughts on the team's revamped offense during an appearance on The Jim Rome Show this week.
Starks described a unit built around a physical, attacking run game with added explosiveness. He highlighted recent moves to strengthen the wide receiver room and re-signing Darnell Washington to support a 12 tight end system. The additions include running back Rico Dowdle, who previously worked with new head coach Mike McCarthy, along with depth on the offensive line. Starks noted the line should be stronger and stouter heading into the season. Improvements at wide receiver feature Michael Pittman Jr. as a veteran target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with Germie Bernard and Roman Wilson also expected to contribute. Starks said he anticipates a more dynamic and explosive offense overall. The offensive line is viewed as one of the team's deepest and youngest units, with tight ends Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington positioned for expanded roles.
