Chile's Meteorological Directorate issued the forecast for the last weekend of June, with falling temperatures in the Metropolitan Region and alerts in the south and along the coast.
Chile's Meteorological Directorate reported on Friday, June 26, that Saturday is expected to bring a low of 2°C and a high of 15°C in the Metropolitan Region under clear skies. On Sunday the low will fall to 0°C and the high will reach 17°C.
In the south, a frontal system will decrease during Friday morning between the Ñuble and Los Ríos regions. An area of instability will bring rain from dawn to Saturday morning mainly in La Araucanía and Los Ríos, with isolated showers in Biobío.
The agency warned that thermometers could drop to -7°C in Lonquimay, Melipeuco and Malalcahuello, and between -3°C and -1°C in valleys and foothills of La Araucanía and Los Ríos.
Separately, the Navy's Meteorological Directorate issued a rough seas alert in effect from June 26 to 30 from Arica to the Gulf of Penas, including the Juan Fernández Archipelago.
