The Washington Nationals intend to call up catching prospect Harry Ford following the All-Star break, according to a source. Ford is expected to take the roster spot of Drew Millas, who is headed to the injured list.
The move remains unconfirmed by the club. Ford will replace Millas, who suffered a fractured left index finger.
Washington acquired the 23-year-old from the Seattle Mariners last December in a trade that also brought pitcher Isaac Lyon in exchange for reliever Jose A. Ferrer. Ford, selected 12th overall in the 2021 draft, has hit .223 with four home runs in 58 games at Triple-A Rochester this season.
He posted an .860 OPS over his past 33 games after a slow start. Ford made his MLB debut with Seattle in September and appeared once in the 2025 postseason.
