Netflix has announced that the fifth and final season of Outer Banks will premiere on August 20. A teaser trailer for the season has also been released.
The streamer revealed that all 10 episodes will become available on that date. The Pogues are shown vowing to avenge the death of their friend JJ in the trailer.
Production on the season began in June 2025 in Charleston, South Carolina. Netflix promoted Tony Crane, who plays Chandler Groff, and Cullen Moss, who plays Sheriff Victor Shoupe, at that time.
The returning cast includes Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, Carlacia Grant, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Fiona Palomo. The official synopsis describes the group as being at their breaking point after JJ's loss in Morocco.
