Palermo to hold its first territorial planning forum

The municipality of Palermo in Huila will host the First Territorial Planning Forum titled “Palermo, tierra de oportunidades”. The event aims to strengthen urban planning amid growth in Amborco and the industrial zone. It is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2025, at Club Los Lagos.

The First Territorial Planning Forum “Palermo, tierra de oportunidades” will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2025, starting at 7:30 a.m., at Club Los Lagos in Palermo, Huila. This space for analysis and collective construction will bring together experts, guild representatives, academic institutions, and local and national authorities to present proposals on sustainable development, land use, infrastructure, public services, and environmental sustainability.

Palermo is undergoing a phase of urban and industrial expansion that requires coordinated planning. Areas like Amborco and the industrial zone are emerging as key to the regional economy, but their growth poses challenges in coexistence, environmental protection, and service provision. The forum aims to build a shared vision that balances economic development with social welfare, in line with departmental and national guidelines.

Invitees include delegates from the ministries of Housing, Environment, and Mines; the Huila Governorship; the National University and Surcolombiana University; IGAC; CAM; public service companies; productive sector guilds; as well as community representatives and the Territorial Planning Council. The Palermo Municipal Mayor's Office and FRJ Consultores S.A.S. invite the public to participate freely in this dialogue.

Note: While a promotional detail mentions Friday and 8:30 a.m., the main article specifies Thursday and 7:30 a.m., prioritizing the primary report information.
