About 76 percent of respondents are dissatisfied with the work of the black-red federal government. An Insa poll for «Bild am Sonntag» also found that 58 percent do not believe the coalition will last until 2029. The AfD leads in the polls with 28 percent.
The black-red federal government of CDU, CSU and SPD has been in office for almost a year. Friedrich Merz (CDU) took the oath of office as Chancellor on 6 May 2025. A representative Insa poll, conducted from 27 to 30 April 2026 among 1,207 people, shows strong dissatisfaction.
76 percent of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the government's work, only 16 percent are satisfied. 58 percent do not expect the coalition to last until the end of the electoral term in 2029, 24 percent believe it will, and 18 percent answered «don't know» or «no answer».
In Insa's «Sonntagstrend», the AfD leads with 28 percent (+7.2 since the 2025 Bundestag election), ahead of the Union with 24 percent (2025: 28.5 percent). The SPD is at 14 percent (2025: 16.4 percent), Greens at 13 percent (2025: 11.6 percent) and Die Linke at 11 percent (2025: 8.8 percent). BSW and FDP each reach 3 percent.
The institute states a statistical margin of error of 2.9 percentage points. Polls reflect the current opinion and are subject to uncertainties.
