Prime minister reviews food supply measures ahead of Eid Al-Adha

Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk to review preparations for securing food supplies and maintaining market stability ahead of Eid Al-Adha.

During the meeting, Madbouly stressed the need to ensure continuous availability of essential commodities in sufficient quantities and at reasonable prices. He also called for intensified market oversight to prevent monopolistic practices and price manipulation.

Farouk outlined government preparations, noting that the Holding Company for Food Industries has supplied around 2,300 heads of cattle with another 1,500 currently being received. Approximately 669 tonnes of frozen meat have been made available alongside coordination to supply about 6,000 slaughtered sheep from the Egyptian-Sudanese Company.

Livestock markets and temporary outlets have been expanded across governorates. Retail outlets will remain open throughout the holiday, with intensified inspections of bakeries, food outlets, fuel stations and LPG points, and emergency operations rooms activated nationwide.
