Prime Video cancels Kevin animated series after first season

Prime Video has canceled the animated series Kevin after its first season. Executive producers Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert announced the decision on Instagram.

The eight-episode season premiered in April. Plaza, who voiced the character Dana, wrote that the streamer is not picking up the show for another season.

"Very disappointing since we were just getting going," she said in her post. Plaza thanked fans as well as the cast and crew.

The series starred Jason Schwartzman as the title cat. Additional voice cast members included Whoopi Goldberg, John Waters, Aparna Nancherla, Amy Sedaris, and Gil Ozeri.

Co-showrunner Wengert posted separately that he is proud of the show but disappointed it will not continue. Prime Video has not commented on the cancellation.
