French-Malian rapper Doums, whose real name is Mamadou Coulibaly, has been placed in custody in Paris for alleged domestic violence against his ex-partner, actress Adèle Exarchopoulos. The incidents span from 2017 to 2024, following a complaint filed by the actress in October 2024. This case adds to another ongoing procedure involving his current partner.
The 33-year-old French-Malian rapper Doums is being questioned by Paris police since Thursday at a capital commissariat. This custody follows a complaint for habitual domestic violence and violation of a protection order, filed by Adèle Exarchopoulos in October 2024. The alleged assaults occurred between 2017 and 2024, during which the couple had a son in 2017.
The 32-year-old actress, who won the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 2013 for Blue Is the Warmest Color, had already been interviewed by investigators in autumn 2025 as part of this procedure. She regretted the media exposure of the case, according to close sources. The Paris prosecutor's office stated no further communication is planned before the end of custody.
Doums, previously convicted multiple times for domestic violence, receiving stolen goods, and drug use, faces another complaint. On January 11 in Vitry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne, he allegedly assaulted his current partner in the presence of their two children and a cousin. The victim filed a complaint that same day, leading to his placement under judicial supervision pending trial on February 2 in Créteil.
Former member of the L'Entourage collective alongside Nekfeu, Doums is now dealing with multiple legal proceedings. Adèle Exarchopoulos, acclaimed for roles in films like The Animal Kingdom and I Will Always See Your Faces – which earned her a César in 2024 –, continues her prolific career despite this case.
