The final regular phase matchday of the Torneo Clausura 2025 has completed the playoff bracket, setting the eight round of 16 matchups. Boca Juniors will face Talleres de Córdoba, while Racing and River will feature in a key clash behind closed doors. There will be no Superclásico between Boca and River at this stage.
Following the completion of Zone A matches, six of the eight round of 16 matchups for the Torneo Clausura 2025 have been set, with the rest confirmed by the regular phase. The spotlight matchup will be Racing versus River at the Presidente Perón Stadium behind closed doors, due to an A.Pre.Vi.De. sanction for pyrotechnics incidents in a prior Libertadores semifinal against Flamengo.
Boca Juniors will host Talleres de Córdoba, the last qualifier from Zone B, in their push to advance. Other fixtures include Vélez Sarsfield against Argentinos Juniors at the José Amalfitani; Lanús versus Tigre at La Fortaleza; Rosario Central hosting Estudiantes de La Plata; Central Córdoba facing San Lorenzo in Santiago del Estero; Riestra against Barracas Central; and Unión de Santa Fe playing at home against Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata.
For international qualifications, Rosario Central and Boca secure direct spots in the 2026 Copa Libertadores, while Argentinos Juniors enters phase 2. River Plate slots into the Sudamericana, with a chance to move to the Libertadores if they win the Clausura or if other teams free up spots. Teams such as Racing, Riestra, San Lorenzo, Lanús, and Tigre also qualify for the Sudamericana, with opportunities for Barracas Central and Independiente depending on final outcomes.
The Superclásico between Boca and River will not occur in the round of 16 but could happen in later tournament stages, based on each team's progress.
