Sacred Bones and the Vega Vault Project are set to reissue late Suicide co-founder Alan Vega's debut solo albums from 1980 and 1981. The remastered records, including a deluxe edition with unheard demos, will arrive on January 23, 2026, in LP, 8-track, and digital formats for the first time. One track from each album is streaming now, accompanied by a new music video.

The reissues feature Alan Vega (1980) and Collision Drive (1981), remastered from original tapes. They will be available on LP and 8-track, with digital streaming debuting for the first time. A deluxe 2xLP edition of the self-titled album includes previously unreleased demos of tracks like 'Ice Drummer,' 'Fireball,' and 'Speedway.'
Tracks from each album are streaming today: 'Ice Drummer' from the debut, with a new music video directed by Douglas Hart of The Jesus and Mary Chain, and 'Outlaw' from Collision Drive.
Background and Quotes
Alan Vega, known for co-founding punk duo Suicide, passed away in 2016. Since then, the Vega Vault Project has unearthed and released archival material, including posthumous albums It (2017 on The Fader Label), Mutator (2021 on Sacred Bones, recorded with widow Liz Lamere), and Insurrection (2024 on In the Red).
Liz Lamere, Vega's widow and collaborator, shared in a press statement: “Alan’s music thrived on interpretation. He believed the meaning of his songs belonged to the listener. His lyrics painted emotional and conceptual landscapes but he resisted explaining them. He always wanted the listener to bring their own experiences, imaginations, and emotions into what listening to his music and words meant to them, and ultimately that openness is part of its power.”
