Sherri Shepherd's daytime talk show canceled after four seasons

Comedian Sherri Shepherd's syndicated talk show "Sherri" will end after its fourth season, according to producer Debmar-Mercury. The decision comes amid changes in the daytime television landscape, just as "The Kelly Clarkson Show" announced its own conclusion.

Sherri Shepherd's talk show "Sherri" is wrapping up after four seasons on the air. The news, confirmed by Lionsgate's Debmar-Mercury on Monday, follows the recent announcement that "The Kelly Clarkson Show" will end after seven seasons at the close of 2026.

The show had been renewed through the 2025-2026 television season across major station groups, including Fox TV Stations, Nexstar, Hearst, Sinclair, Gray, Tegna, and Sunbeam. Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus issued a statement explaining the cancellation: "This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production – which has found strong creative momentum this season – or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd." They added, "We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms."

Last year, when the show was picked up for its fourth season, Frank Cicha, executive vice president of programming for Fox TV Stations, praised it as "a linchpin of our daytime lineup." "Sherri" is taped at New York's Chelsea Studios and produced and distributed by Debmar-Mercury.

Shepherd, a former co-host on "The View," actress, comedian, and Emmy winner, launched the show in fall 2022. It filled the time slots previously held by "The Wendy Williams Show," which Debmar-Mercury had produced and distributed for 13 seasons. Reflecting on the renewal last year, Shepherd said, "I don’t take it for granted that people welcome me into their homes daily. I work so hard to bring escapism to viewers’ lives through joy, laughter and inspiration, and I’m grateful that the audience has embraced what we do. I look forward to raising the bar and turning up the volume as we plan for our season four return."
