Claims that six of nine Shiv Sena UBT Lok Sabha MPs signed a letter to form a separate group have sparked political turmoil in Maharashtra.
The Shiv Sena led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said six rebel Shiv Sena UBT MPs had signed a letter stating they had formed a separate group.
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut alleged that each MP was offered fifty crore rupees and fifteen crore as advance before boarding chartered flights to Delhi. He said those who wish to leave should resign.
Sources confirmed to The Hindu that Sanjay Dina Patil and Omraje Nimbalkar had not signed the letter to the Speaker. The party convened a parliamentary board meeting for Thursday.
A senior Lok Sabha official told Hindustan Times there was no confirmation if the Speaker had received any letter.
