Streetlamp Studio and publisher Skystone Games have released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming side-scrolling roguelike SlashZero. The video demonstrates aerial combo sequences and movesets for two playable characters, set against anime-inspired visuals and cyberpunk aesthetics. The game was first announced at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase.
Streetlamp Studio's SlashZero draws comparisons to Dead Cells with its procedurally generated levels and robust customization system. A recent gameplay reveal showcases smooth aerial combos that flow impressively, emphasizing the developer's focus on high-quality 3D animation and performance. According to a press release, the team aims to “push the boundaries of the side-scrolling roguelite” through a “Triple-I” development approach, distinct from traditional AAA titles. Skystone Games supports the project, which features cyberpunk aesthetics and anime-style visuals. Players take on the role of a Timehacker navigating degrading timelines to confront Hieros, the Lord of the Void. An earlier trailer provided more story details, though the emphasis remains on responsive combat. No release date has been set, but an early playtest is available for sign-up on Steam.
