Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake may be re-revealed this year

A new reveal for the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake could arrive later in 2026, according to a reliable insider citing sources at developer Saber.

The on-again, off-again project was first announced in late 2021 before switching studios. Saber has been developing the game from scratch for the past three years.

Insider 100% Star Wars reported that sources inside Saber described development as progressing smoothly. The team has hired high-end talent from across the industry and pulled resources from throughout the company.

The best-case scenario was previously described as a mid-to-late 2027 release. A shift into 2028 would align with the original game's 25th anniversary.

A reveal later this year has been planned. The original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was released in 2003 by BioWare.
