The Pittsburgh Steelers have intentionally limited Drew Allar's practice reps during the early stages of organized team activities. The approach aims to distribute work among four quarterbacks in the new system under head coach Mike McCarthy.
Beat writer Mark Kaboly said Allar received about 70 reps during rookie minicamp as the only quarterback present. Those sessions gave the coaching staff an early look at the rookie before his workload decreased in the first two weeks of OTAs, where he has operated as the No. 4 quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers, Will Howard and Mason Rudolph.
