Three suspects arrested in Davao de Oro graduate shooting

Three suspects were arrested on Friday in connection with the shooting of a 29-year-old college graduate in Pantukan, Davao de Oro, while one remains at large.

The arrests took place at around 10:55 a.m. on Friday. Those taken into custody were identified as Franklin Taganait Cabatlao, 35; Raymond Diez Garcia, 34, a dismissed police officer; and Roanna Taoy Colongan, 25. Alvin Abeñon is still being sought in Barangay Tagdangua in Pantukan.

The shooting occurred last Thursday after the victim attended a graduation ceremony at Kolehiyo ng Pantukan. He was with family members and about to board a yellow minivan when attacked. The victim identified Cabatlao as the gunman through a police rogue’s gallery, while witnesses linked Garcia and Colongan to the getaway vehicle.

Police recovered an Armscor caliber .45 pistol with serial number 351184, two steel magazines, five live rounds of ammunition, and the gray Suzuki minivan with plate number MBN 2178. The Police Regional Office in Davao Region said investigations continue to support the filing of criminal charges.
