Mancunian singer TTSSFU discussed her upcoming music and creative process during an interview at Mad Cool Festival. She described shifting back toward dream-pop influences for her next project.
TTSSFU, whose real name is Tamsin Stephens, told NME that her next material will be more synthy than her previous guitar-based EP. She plans to reconnect with her roots and cited inspirations including Robyn’s latest album and the film I Saw the TV Glow.
The singer confirmed she had already recorded a synth-pop album after releasing Blown last August. A track from that collection will appear on her upcoming record.
Stephens said it took time to overcome pressure and self-doubt following Blown. Touring with other bands led her to question whether her music was exciting enough, but she has since regained confidence.
She also expressed excitement about an upcoming tour with Blondshell, noting the pair had connected via direct messages.
