Vasilevskiy wins Vezina Trophy for second time

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy has been named the NHL's top goaltender for the 2025/26 season. He received the Vezina Trophy for the second time in his career after a strong regular season performance.

Vasilevskiy earned 17 first-place votes from NHL general managers, nine more than runner-up Ilya Sorokin. He finished with more than double the points of the other finalists, Sorokin and Jeremy Swayman. The 31-year-old Russian posted a 39-15-4 record in 58 games during the regular season. He recorded two shutouts and a .912 save percentage, helping the Lightning finish 50-26-6 and second in the Atlantic Division. The award was presented in a surprise ceremony outside the team's home arena, Benchmark International Arena. Vasilevskiy previously won the Vezina in 2019 and has been a finalist six times overall. Lightning head coach Jon Cooper also received the Jack Adams Award this spring as the league's top coach. Forward Nikita Kucherov remains a nominee for the Hart Trophy as MVP.
