Venezuelan National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez updated the death toll from the June 24 double earthquake to 1,430 on Saturday, with 3,238 injured. Spain reports six Spanish deaths and 133 missing. Rescue teams from 17 countries continue operations in La Guaira.
Venezuelan authorities reported several people rescued alive, including one by Spain's Military Emergency Unit after nearly 72 hours under rubble. Madrid's Emergency and Immediate Response Team saved a woman and her two grandchildren in La Guaira.
Seventeen countries and the UN have sent humanitarian aid, with more than 1,600 rescuers already in the country. The government distributed 2,600 tons of food and water to 69,000 affected families.
Thousands of Venezuelan volunteers organized spontaneous supply convoys and searches for the missing, filling gaps in the state response. The UN estimates up to 6.76 million people were affected.
