Cuba-Mexico relations

The Cuban government handed over Chinese citizen Zhi Dong Zhang to Mexican authorities on October 23, 2025, following a formal extradition request. Zhang had been detained in Cuba for crimes including document forgery and human trafficking. He was a fugitive from Mexican justice since July 2025 for international drug trafficking.
