Hell's Kitchen tour opens in New Orleans

The North American tour of Alicia Keys' Tony-winning Broadway musical Hell's Kitchen has arrived at New Orleans' Saenger Theatre. Featuring the singer's hits woven into her life-inspired story, the production counts tennis star Serena Williams among its producers.

Following its 2024 Broadway premiere and ongoing run at New York's Shubert Theatre, Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen is on national tour since October. The show stars Maya Drake—a recent San Jose high school grad known from Law & Order: SVU—as Ali, a 17-year-old New Yorker finding her way with family, mentors, and music. Keys' score includes classics like "Fallin'," "Girl on Fire," and "If I Ain't Got You," plus new songs; it's her second musical project after 2011's Stick Fly.

New Orleans shows at Saenger Theatre (1111 Canal Street):
- Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
- January 1 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
- January 2-3 at various times, including January 3 matinee at 2 p.m.
- January 4 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Tickets start at $39 via saengernola.com. Themes of personal growth, family, and community shine in this vibrant production.
