Angel Studios has added five new films to its 2026 lineup, bringing the total to 10 projects, as unveiled at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The slate features thrillers, biopics, and faith-based stories starring actors like Owen Wilson, Tommy Lee Jones, and Jeff Daniels. Previously announced titles include animated Animal Farm and historical drama Young Washington.
Angel Studios EVP and Head of Theatrical Brandon Purdie presented the expanded slate on Monday at the Las Vegas convention. The new additions include Scott Waugh's thriller Runner, starring Owen Wilson and Alan Ritchson, scheduled for September 11. Other films are a reimagining of John Wayne's 1947 Angel and the Badman with Tommy Lee Jones, a Cold War-era story about Reagan and Gorbachev featuring Jeff Daniels as Ronald Reagan and Jared Harris, a biopic of chocolate baron Milton Hershey starring Finn Wittrock, and the holiday musical Drummer Boy. A first trailer for the Reagan film, titled Brink of War, was shown, according to announcements from the event. Angel Studios first showed the Brink of War trailer at the convention, highlighting Jeff Daniels as Ronald Reagan alongside looks at Young Washington and Runner with Alan Ritchson. Previously announced projects include Andy Serkis-directed animated Animal Farm, releasing May 1; Jon Erwin's Young Washington, starring William Franklyn-Miller as a young George Washington, Mary-Louise Parker, Kelsey Grammer, Ben Kingsley, and Andy Serkis, out July 3 for America's 250th anniversary; and Alejandro Monteverde's biblical epic Zero A.D., featuring Deva Cassel, Sam Worthington, Jim Caviezel, and Ben Mendelsohn on Christmas Day. The studio, known for hits like Sound of Freedom since 2023, uses its 2.2 million-member Angel Guild for audience-based decisions.
