Emergency services responded to a fire at an apartment building in Neustrelitz on Thursday afternoon. Upon arrival, significant smoke was already billowing from an upper-floor window. Firefighters evacuated all residents safely. Two elderly residents, aged 80 and 89, were taken to hospital as a precaution but sustained no injuries, according to police. Initial investigations indicate the fire started in one of the five apartments while the owner was absent. Damage is estimated at around 100,000 euros. The cause remains unclear, with a fire investigator scheduled to examine the site on Friday.
