Apple seeds iOS 27 Beta 2 to developers

Apple released the second beta of iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 to developers on June 22. The update focuses on expanded Siri capabilities first shown at WWDC 2026.

The company introduced a new "Write with Siri" feature that replaces the previous AI writing tools prompt. It appears above the keyboard on iPhone and iPad and shrinks to the Siri icon when users begin typing without assistance.

Additional Siri improvements include faster performance and labels marking some Expressive Voice elements as coming soon. The beta also adds support for message reactions and inline replies in RCS conversations within the Messages app.

Other changes fix issues with iPhone Mirroring on macOS Golden Gate and enable firmware updates for AirPods Max 2. Testers are expected to find further details in the coming days.
