Widow’s Bay update: Apple TV releases teaser, shares Massachusetts filming locations

Apple TV has shared a promotional teaser for its upcoming horror-comedy series 'Widow’s Bay,' following the initial reveal last week. Starring Matthew Rhys as the mayor of a cursed New England island town, the show filmed earlier this year at locations including Essex, Gloucester, Worcester, and Rockport in Massachusetts. The 10-episode series premieres April 29, 2026.

Building on last week's first-look announcement, Apple TV released a teaser this week for 'Widow’s Bay,' highlighting the eerie island setting and Mayor Tom Loftis’s (Matthew Rhys) efforts to attract tourists amid local superstitions.

Production wrapped earlier this year across picturesque Massachusetts sites: Essex and Gloucester, Worcester, and Rockport, capturing the fictional town 40 miles off New England’s coast.

As previously detailed, the cast includes Kate O’Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, and Dale Dickey. Created by Katie Dippold, with Hiro Murai directing multiple episodes, the series blends horror and comedy. It launches with episodes 1-3 on April 29, 2026, followed by weekly Wednesdays through June 17.

Apple TV continues expanding its genre slate with this project alongside hits like 'Severance' and 'Ted Lasso.'
