Arizona man arrested at Legoland for alleged attack

Jason Marchesano was taken into custody at Legoland in Carlsbad, California, on May 27. Authorities charged the 46-year-old with attempted second-degree homicide, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. The arrest followed an alleged incident in Arizona in October 2025.

Police said Marchesano strangled and restrained his girlfriend with bed sheets in a trailer home in Paulden, Arizona, on Oct. 28, 2025, before leaving her there. She escaped and contacted authorities, prompting a national warrant for his arrest. The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office worked with agencies in Arizona and Nevada to locate him. A community tip eventually led officers to the theme park, where they arrested Marchesano. He had prior convictions for domestic violence and was on probation at the time. Marchesano is now held at the Vista Detention Facility in California as a fugitive. Court records show a history of cases involving aggravated assault and related offenses.
