Bachelor Point season 5 sets new record on Bongo OTT

On Eid-ul-Azha, eight new episodes of the Bangladeshi drama series Bachelor Point season 5 launched simultaneously on the local OTT platform Bongo, attracting Bengali-speaking viewers from over 100 countries. The release quickly achieved a platform record with 3.5 million paid views in three days and over 25 million minutes of watch time.

The popular series, directed by Kajal Arefin Ome, marked a significant milestone for Bangladeshi digital entertainment. Released to coincide with the Eid-ul-Azha holiday, the episodes drew immediate attention, surpassing previous benchmarks for pre-bookings and viewer engagement on Bongo.

Director Kajal Arefin Ome expressed gratitude for the response, stating, "There has never been this much pre-booking on any OTT platform before. 'Bachelor Point' has set a new benchmark for the Bangladeshi OTT industry, all thanks to the audience's love. The fact that so many people paid to watch 'Bachelor Point Season 5' is truly inspiring for us. I am deeply grateful to everyone."

Bongo's Chief Content Officer, Mushfiqur Rahman Manzu, highlighted the innovative release format, noting, "We are thrilled by the record-breaking success of 'Bachelor Point Season 5'. For the first time in the show's history, audiences were able to watch eight new episodes at once. A large number of viewers are engaging with the content on Bongo. For fans of 'Bachelor Point', we have a special 120-episode season pass and two additional subscription packages, all of which are receiving an excellent response."

Within just three days, the season amassed over 3.5 million paid views, with audiences collectively spending more than 25 million minutes on the content. The cast features actors including Marzuk Russell, Chashi Alam, Ziaul Hoque Polash, Abdullah Rana, Monira Mithu, Shimul Sharma, Saidur Rahman Pavel, Faria Shahrin, and Lamima Lam.

This success underscores the growing appetite for local Bengali content on global streaming services, potentially influencing future OTT strategies in the region.
