Backcountry Discovery Routes announces Hells Canyon BDR-X

Backcountry Discovery Routes has announced a new short-distance route around Hells Canyon. The 520-mile Hells Canyon BDR-X will cover both sides of the deepest river gorge in North America.

The route is scheduled for a full reveal on the evening of Friday, August 7, at the Tenere Trek rally at Tamarack Resort in Donnelly, Idaho. Attendees can watch the in-person presentation, and 100 tickets are available for the launch event only. It will also stream on YouTube at 7 PM.

Hells Canyon BDR-X spans the Oregon-Idaho border along the Snake River. Riders will experience elevation changes exceeding 5,000 feet, historic fire lookouts, and optional challenging sections. The moderate route is designed for a long weekend.

Funding came from the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative. GPS files will be available for free download from the Backcountry Discovery Routes website after launch.
