BJP Haryana chief demands Punjab CM Mann resignation over video allegations

BJP Haryana president Archana Gupta called for the immediate resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on June 21, 2026, citing allegations of disrespect toward Sikh gurus and a fabricated forensic report on a viral video.

Addressing a press conference in Narnaul, Ms. Gupta said the video showed the chief minister in an act of disrespect. She claimed the Punjab government and police worked to prove the video fake and that Mr. Mann commissioned a fabricated forensic report.

Ms. Gupta alleged that Punjab Police sought a favourable report to shield the chief minister. She referred to an FIR and arrests made in Gurugram by Haryana Police and Gurugram Police, along with statements from complainant Jaspreet Singh of Sirsa about pressure to generate a favourable report.

She also criticised the Aam Aadmi Party government for failing to deliver on promises of financial aid and pensions for women. Ms. Gupta stated that Bhagwant Mann has no moral right to remain in office and demanded that the Punjab government clarify its role in the matter.
