Blizzard teases Overwatch's next hero with illustration

Blizzard revealed a teaser illustration for Overwatch's next hero on March 31, depicting a woman with long braided hair, a beret, cropped green vest, rifle, and pink drone. The company announced a full hero trailer premiere on April 8 at 9 a.m. PT. This marks the start of a new chapter in the Reign of Talon storyline.

Blizzard Entertainment shared the silhouette of its upcoming Overwatch hero via an official tweet from @PlayOverwatch on March 31. The post stated: 'Respectfully… y’all aren’t ready for this one 😮‍💨🔥 Join us Apr 8 at 9am PT for the premiere of our latest Hero Trailer as we kick off the next chapter in the Reign of Talon 💪.' The illustration fills in the hero lineup used to promote the game's relaunch, showing distinct features including the braided hair and accompanying drone.  Blizzard has committed to releasing a new hero every season throughout 2026, with each tied to the ongoing narrative. Overwatch's next season begins in a few weeks, aligning with the company's reboot plans.  Fans familiar with the lore speculate the hero is Frankie, a character from the 2021 novel Deadlock Rebels. Frankie is associated with the Deadlock Gang, which connects to Vendetta’s crusade central to this year's Talon-focused arc. Blizzard has not confirmed the identity ahead of the trailer.
