The BMW Motorrad ADV-X rally is set to return in 2026 with a revamped format, inviting GS riders on a point-to-point adventure from Calgary, Alberta, to Kelowna, British Columbia. This backcountry journey through the Rockies will cater to riders of varying skill levels, featuring guided support and all-inclusive amenities. The event shifts from previous day-loop rides to a more expedition-like experience.
The BMW Motorrad ADV-X rally, aimed at GS riders, will take place in the mountains of British Columbia during the summer of 2026, transitioning into fall in the Rockies. Organizers have designed an all-new route from Calgary, Alberta, to Kelowna, British Columbia, as a curated point-to-point backcountry adventure suitable for participants of different skill levels.
Riders will be grouped and guided by experienced instructors, with ongoing support from BMW Motorrad technicians. The event includes six nights of accommodation, daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as event programming. All required fuel and trailside technical support are provided with registration. For convenience, transport for participants' GS motorcycles is available from select BMW Motorrad retailers across Canada.
An optional pre-event off-road training day, led by certified BMW Motorrad Off-Road Instructors from Canada, is offered to help riders refine their skills. Unlike past iterations, which consisted of day loops from a mountain resort, this year's format allows riders to fly into Calgary and out of Kelowna, major airports at each end. BMW may assist with shipping bikes to the event.
The rally emphasizes a sense of true expedition while providing hotel stays rather than camping. It is open only to BMW GS motorcycles, differing from events like KTM's rallies that accept various bike sizes. Full details, including bike shipping, are available on the registration website.
