Bon Jovi ends Madison Square Garden residency with celebrity guests

Bon Jovi concluded its nine-show residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday night. Bruce Springsteen joined the band for two songs to close the final performance.

The New Jersey band welcomed a series of high-profile visitors throughout the run. Paul McCartney appeared on July 9, while Ed Sheeran, Howard Stern, Forrest Whitaker, Roger Goodell, John McEnroe and Pink attended other dates. Little Steven Van Zandt, Robbie Williams, the War and Treaty and Train’s Pat Monahan also stopped by.

On the penultimate night, July 23, Jon Bon Jovi cut the set short because of a sinus infection, though Monahan still performed “Livin’ on a Prayer.” The final show featured returning guests Springsteen and the War and Treaty, with Michael and Tanya Trotter joining for “The People’s House.” Springsteen also sang and played guitar on “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” and “The Promised Land.”

The residency marked Bon Jovi’s first tour in four years after Jon Bon Jovi’s 2022 vocal surgery. The band is scheduled to play five shows in the United Kingdom next month, including three nights at Wembley Stadium.
