Building on their July 2025 reunion announcement, BTS has confirmed a new group album for March 20, 2026—their first full project since 2022. The seven members sent handwritten letters to fans teasing the date, while Big Hit Music made it official, with a world tour to follow.
After reuniting in June 2025 following mandatory military service and announcing a spring 2026 comeback in a July Weverse livestream, BTS has now locked in March 20, 2026, as the release date for their new studio album. This follows their last full album Be in 2020 and anthology Proof in 2022.
Big Hit Music confirmed the date on January 1, 2026, posting: “March 20 Comeback Confirmed.” Ahead of this, select fans received handwritten letters from RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook hinting at "2026.3.20." RM wrote, “We’ve waited more earnestly than anyone else.” Jimin added, “The year we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived.” V shared, “In 2026, we’ll make even more good memories, so look forward to it!” Jin reflected on team return, J-Hope on unity, Suga on spreading love, and Jungkook on continued support.
The group began recording in July 2025, finishing by November, as Jimin noted in a livestream: “Guys, we just finished recording... It can come out next spring.” In statements, BTS emphasized recapturing their debut mindset, with J-Hope describing "massive energy" from solo-influenced styles and RM praising the music's quality.
A world tour is planned post-release: “We’ll be visiting fans all around the world.” The members also reunited for a New Year’s Weverse countdown. Album title and concept details are pending, but excitement is building.
