Cheapest TBE vaccine in Sweden available in Örebro County

TBE remains a major issue in Örebro County where at least ten people have been affected this year. Despite offering the cheapest vaccine in all of Sweden, far from everyone gets vaccinated.

TBE, or tick-borne encephalitis, poses a significant health problem in Örebro County. Just this year at least ten people have been affected by the disease.

The viral illness can cause serious lifelong consequences such as speech disorders and paralysis. There is no treatment that cures TBE.

Vaccination coverage remains low even though the shot is the cheapest in Sweden according to reports from Nerikes Allehanda.

Dalarna's infection control unit has updated its advice following new recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Sweden. Residents in Borlänge, Säter, Avesta, Smedjebacken, Ludvika and Hedemora should now get vaccinated against TBE.
