Coachella Valley Firebirds add Scott Ford as assistant coach

The Coachella Valley Firebirds have added Scott Ford as an assistant coach. Ford joins the Seattle Kraken organization after two seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Coachella Valley Firebirds announced the hiring of Scott Ford to their coaching staff. He previously worked two seasons as an assistant with the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets.

Ford spent eight seasons as an assistant in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals from 2015 to 2020 and 2021 to 2024. During that time his teams won three division titles and reached the Western Conference Finals in both 2023 and 2024.

The 46-year-old Ford played 522 AHL games over 10 seasons with teams including Milwaukee, Peoria, Bridgeport, Providence and Cleveland. He served as captain of the Admirals in 2011-12 and 2013-14.
