CoreWeave raises more than 20 billion dollars amid AI boom

CoreWeave has secured over 20 billion dollars in debt and equity financing this year. The latest deal includes a 3.1 billion dollar loan backed by graphics processing units. This activity highlights strong investor interest in AI infrastructure.

The AI cloud provider closed the oversubscribed facility recently. Moody’s rated it Ba2 and Fitch assigned BB+. The loan offers interest income along with identifiable collateral and a fixed maturity date.

Bitcoin has moved in the opposite direction during the same period. It has fallen more than 50 percent from its prior peak near 126,000 dollars even as global liquidity expanded. Analysts note that AI projects can provide revenue contracts and physical assets that Bitcoin does not offer.

Pierre Rochard, chief executive of The Bitcoin Bond Company, said capital is flowing to companies that control power generation, chips and cooling systems. The Bank for International Settlements estimates that the five largest hyperscalers will spend more than 1 trillion dollars on AI-related capital expenditure in 2025 and 2026.
