Cousins die run over by vehicle in Pitalito

Two young cousins lost their lives in a traffic accident in the early morning in Pitalito, Huila. The incident happened when a pickup truck hit them while they were riding a motorcycle. Authorities have begun investigations to clarify the facts.

The tragic accident occurred in the early morning of December 5, 2025, in front of the synthetic soccer field La Bombonera in the municipality of Pitalito, in the Huila department. According to preliminary reports, Camilo Andrés Figueroa Quisaboni and Stiven Orlando Cardozo Quisaboni, two cousins traveling on a motorcycle, were run over by a white pickup truck with license plate JBT-302.

The victims' bodies remained motionless on the public road. Some bystanders who witnessed the event stopped to provide aid, but upon checking, they confirmed the men had no vital signs. The incident caused shock in the local community, underscoring the vulnerability of motorcyclists on roads.

Staff from the Instituto de Tránsito de Pitalito (Intrapitalito) arrived promptly at the scene to conduct initial inspections. Judicial police agents handled the removal of the bodies and the necessary field work to identify the responsible driver and determine the exact circumstances of the collision. So far, authorities have not disclosed further details about the accident's cause or the vehicle's condition.
