Defending champion Davao Region defeated National Capital Region 76-66 in the semifinals of the 2026 Palarong Pambansa secondary boys' basketball tournament on May 29.
The victory at the EOC Evacuation Center in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, sends Davao into the final against Calabarzon.
Aaron Joash Bayanban led Davao with 19 points on five three-pointers. Rene Clert Baterbonia added 15 points. The team made 12 three-pointers overall.
Davao built a large lead in the second quarter and held off a late rally by NCR. The championship game is scheduled for 9 am on May 30.
