The Delhi High Court issued notice to the makers of Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy on a petition by actor Salman Khan seeking to restrain the film's release over alleged infringement of his personality rights.
Justice Neena Bansal Krishna issued the notice on Friday to producer Amit Jani, Jani FireFox Films, director Bharat Shrinate, casting director Akshay Pandey and others. The matter was posted for hearing on June 19.
Advocate Nizam Pasha, appearing for Khan, told the court that a poster released on May 29 showed an individual with a striking resemblance to the actor, including his distinctive bracelet. He argued that the film violated a December 11, 2025, Delhi High Court order protecting Khan's personality rights.
Pasha noted that the film's trailer was released on Friday despite an earlier indication it would be unveiled on June 20. No release date has been announced. He added that the filmmakers were attempting to commercially exploit Khan's personality rights and sought an injunction.
Khan's plea stated that the promotional material made a blatant reference to him and that the character had an uncanny resemblance, with the bracelet immediately identifiable with the actor.
