Sales agency Sola Media has closed initial distribution deals for the CGI animated feature 'Monster Mia,' a €9 million production set for a Halloween 2026 release in Germany. The film, targeting family audiences with themes of friendship and self-acceptance, follows a human girl navigating a monster-filled school. It heads to the American Film Market next month amid growing international interest.
Overview
'Monster Mia' is a spooky yet family-friendly CGI animated adventure produced on a budget of €9 million ($10.4 million). The story centers on Mia, a human girl expelled from her school in the idyllic town of Primrose, who ends up at the eerie Rotwood Academy. There, she's the only human among monsters, facing prejudice from principal Van Vlad. With her pet rat Quentin, Mia teams up with classmates to thwart his sinister plans, blending humor, adventure, and messages about self-acceptance, friendship, and embracing the unknown.
