DRI seizes 2.6 kg gold worth Rs 4.2 crore at Mumbai airport

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officers stopped two passengers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. They recovered 2.6 kg of 24-karat gold concealed in wax form.

The seizure is valued at Rs 4.2 crore. It is linked to a Dubai-based syndicate.

The operation resulted in the arrest of a jeweller from Navi Mumbai. Authorities have launched a broader investigation into the smuggling network.
