Troy Terry tied the game with five seconds left in the third period, and Olen Zellweger scored at 1:50 of overtime to lift the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-2 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Monday. The win ended Anaheim's three-game losing streak at Honda Center. Utah had led 2-1 before the late comeback.
The Anaheim Ducks snapped a three-game skid with a dramatic 3-2 overtime win against the Utah Mammoth on November 17, 2025, at Honda Center. Jackson LaCombe opened the scoring for Anaheim at 15:52 of the first period, firing a one-timer from the slot off a feed from Ryan Strome for his first goal of the season, giving the Ducks a 1-0 lead.
Dylan Guenther evened it at 1-1 at 18:14 of the second period with a one-timer from the left circle, assisted by Nate Schmidt after shaking off Anaheim's Ross Johnston. Utah then took a 2-1 lead at 9:19 of the third when Logan Cooley converted a one-timer from the right circle, set up by Mikhail Sergachev.
With goalie Lukas Dostal pulled for an extra attacker, Terry tied it 2-2 with five seconds remaining on the rebound of Cutter Gauthier's shot that hit the post. In overtime, Alex Killorn entered the Utah zone and centered to rookie Beckett Sennecke, who drew Karel Vejmelka out before passing to Zellweger for the winner at the right post.
"You can feel the desperation in these games now," Terry said. "A week ago, we were on a (seven-game winning) streak and now, all of a sudden, we're going into tonight [on a three-game losing streak] and it felt that way. We needed to get back on the right side of things."
Zellweger's goal made him the fourth Ducks defenseman to score in overtime at age 22 or younger. Anaheim improved to 12-6-1, while Utah fell to 10-7-2, losing five of their last six (1-3-2). Dostal made 16 saves, Vejmelka stopped 23. Killorn had two assists. Utah's penalty kill remained perfect at 17-for-17 over nine games.
"It's just frustrating the way it happened at the end," Mammoth coach Andre Tourigny said. Ducks coach Joel Quenneville praised Sennecke's play recognition in overtime.
