Ethiopia's Ministry of Labor and Skills is intensifying efforts to safeguard the safety and welfare of Ethiopians working in Saudi Arabia. State Minister Muferihat Kamil held discussions with the Ethiopian ambassador in Saudi to address these issues.
Addis Ababa, Hidar 4, 2018 (Fana Media) – Efforts are underway to ensure the safety and welfare of Ethiopians working in Saudi Arabia.
State Minister of Labor and Skills Muferihat Kamil met with Ethiopian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Muktar Kah (Dr.) and other embassy officials. Their discussions centered on protecting the rights and welfare of Ethiopians recruited abroad and employed in Saudi under feasible conditions.
Ambassador Muktar (Dr.) stated that, based on the established plan to facilitate job opportunities for Ethiopians in Saudi, broad employment prospects are being created through the signed agreement. He noted that discussions with stakeholders continue to expand job opportunities for Ethiopian professionals in Saudi.
They assured that Ethiopians arriving in Saudi for work will have their safety monitored, and if they deviate from their purpose, they will be responsibly returned home. State Minister Muferihat explained that special attention is given to Saudi labor recruitment due to historical and geographical proximity, as well as the extensive job opportunities available.
The embassy has informed Fana Digital that it will provide the necessary support and follow-up to implement the plan. This initiative strengthens ties between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia, built on historical closeness and significant employment prospects.
