Eric Sang and Melal Siyoum win the 2026 Bogotá Half Marathon

Eric Sang and Melal Siyoum were crowned winners of the 2026 Bogotá Half Marathon, with Sang setting a new record in the men's category.

Eric Sang of Kenya crossed the finish line first with a time of 1:01:59, breaking the previous record set by Geoffrey Mutai of 1:02:20 in 2011. Bereket Nega came in second and Philemon Kiplimo in third. The top Colombian runner was Rubén Barbosa, who finished tenth in 1:06:16.

Sang said: “Si hubiera tenido mejor competencia, la hubiera pasado mejor. Feliz de haber ganado y estar en Colombia. Desde el principio vi la oportunidad y ataqué”.

In the women's category, Melal Siyoum won in 1:12:27 after a late attack. Gladys Kwamboka finished second and Aynalem Desta third. Siyoum defeated past winners Aynalem Desta in 2025 and Gladys Kwamboka in 2024.
