Erick Brian and Christopher Velez reunite on Bajo Cero

Former CNCO members Erick Brian and Christopher Velez have collaborated on a new single titled 'Bajo Cero,' marking their first joint project since the band's 2022 split. The track, released via Warner Music Latin, explores themes of heartbreak with Afrobeats influences. This reunion highlights their enduring vocal chemistry after over a decade together.

Erick Brian, 25, and Christopher Velez, 30, both ex-members of the Latin boy band CNCO, released 'Bajo Cero' on February 5. The song features a smooth Afrobeats rhythm blended with urban elements, as the duo sings about numbing emotions after a broken relationship. In the chorus, they reflect: "I’d better put my feelings on ice/ This isn’t going to happen to me again/ You made me feel like an idiot/ made me believe I was the only one."

CNCO formed in 2015 through a talent competition, initially including Erick Brian, Christopher Velez, Richard Camacho, Zabdiel de Jesus, and Joel Pimentel, who departed in 2021. The group achieved success with three number-one albums on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart, including Primera Cita, which topped the list for eight weeks in 2016. After nearly seven years, CNCO announced their disbandment in 2022.

Post-split, Erick Brian signed an exclusive deal with Warner Music Latina and Big Bad Wolf Management Group in fall 2024, releasing his debut EP BTW…Lo Intenté the following year. Christopher Velez has pursued independent releases since 2025. Their collaboration hints emerged in a December 30 Instagram post showing a jam session, followed by studio updates leading to the single's launch. The music video accompanies the track, showcasing their melodic harmonies and longstanding friendship rooted in over ten years of collaboration.
