Fedoseev wins third 3 0 Thursday tournament

GM Vladimir Fedoseev claimed victory in the third 3 0 Thursday event on July 23, 2026, after winning his first 10 games. GM Oleksandr Bortnyk and GM Christopher Yoo took the other two tournaments that day.

Fedoseev secured the title in the third Swiss tournament by a 1.5-point margin despite losing his final game to GM Jeffrey Xiong under time pressure. He defeated opponents including GM Alexander Grischuk, GM Jose Martinez, and IM Reza Mahdavi along the way.

Bortnyk won the first tournament after starting with seven straight victories. He finished with nine points, and his tiebreaks secured the title over GMs Hikaru Nakamura and Rudik Makarian.

Yoo captured the second tournament with a score of 10 out of 11. He won his first five games and added further victories to finish 1.5 points ahead of GM Pranav Anand.
