FIFA has signed a multi-year deal with Stats Perform to distribute official betting data and live streams for major tournaments through 2029. The agreement, the first of its kind for the governing body, covers the 2026 World Cup and other events, allowing licensed sportsbooks to offer enhanced in-play betting and video feeds. This partnership aims to boost revenue and fan engagement while maintaining betting integrity.

FIFA announced on January 13, 2026, a landmark multi-year agreement appointing Stats Perform as its first official distributor of betting data and streaming rights. The deal grants exclusive rights to distribute live data and video feeds for international soccer competitions until 2029, including the FIFA World Cup 2026, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Brazil, the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2028, and various youth tournaments such as the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2027 and 2029, as well as the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Stats Perform's Opta division will collect and provide official player statistics, live scores, insights, and match trackers to power in-play markets and digital features. The company's RunningBall team will handle data distribution to licensed operators for modeling, trading, settlement, and front-end use. Additionally, Stats Perform's AI-enriched Bet LiveStreams service will enable licensed sportsbooks in select jurisdictions to offer live video coverage of thousands of matches from FIFA+ competitions, including all 104 matches of the 2026 World Cup.

“We are delighted to partner with Stats Perform, a global leader in sports data,” said Romy Gai, FIFA chief business officer. “This innovative partnership will create great opportunities to deliver official products for the benefit of the game and its fans.”

Carl Mergele, chief executive at Stats Perform, added: “FIFA competitions represent the pinnacle of the world’s biggest game. Our clients will be delighted we’re able to add FIFA competitions to our Opta and RunningBall official betting data portfolio, and our innovative, AI-enriched Bet LiveStreams service.”

The 2026 World Cup, featuring 48 teams, begins on June 11 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City and spans 16 venues across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, concluding on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This partnership builds on FIFA's digital revamp, including ties with TikTok and DAZN, amid growing demand for real-time data in the booming U.S. betting market. While FIFA prohibits players, officials, and agents from betting-related activities, the deal emphasizes integrity services to monitor content.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the arrangement is expected to unlock new revenue streams, especially with the tournament's North American focus.

Cosa dice la gente

Discussions on X about FIFA's deal with Stats Perform for exclusive World Cup betting data and streaming rights are primarily neutral announcements from official accounts, sports media, and iGaming outlets. Positive sentiments from involved parties emphasize revenue growth, fan engagement, and betting integrity. Some users express skepticism over market concentration, long-term exclusivity, and FIFA's deepening ties to gambling.
