Filth Is Eternal announces new album Impossible World

Seattle rock band Filth Is Eternal has revealed details of their upcoming album, Impossible World, set for release on March 17. The record follows their 2023 effort Find Out and explores themes of gentrification, technology, and authoritarianism. The first single, Stay Melted, accompanies a new music video.

Filth Is Eternal, a Seattle-based rock band, has announced their second album, Impossible World, which will arrive via MNRK Heavy on March 17. This release comes after their 2023 debut LP, Find Out, and marks a sonic evolution for the group.

The album's creation unfolded amid rising concerns over accelerating gentrification, unchecked technological advancement, and the gradual emergence of authoritarian tendencies. It blends the band's signature hardcore intensity with more refined melodic elements. Vocalist Lis DiAngelo highlighted this shift, stating, “I think the biggest changes from LP1 to now is that we’ve upped the intention by using more melody, harmony, and singing in general. We’re working with aggression, but moving toward something beautiful and true.”

To herald the album, Filth Is Eternal unveiled the lead single, Stay Melted, along with an official music video. The band described the track's inspiration: “the world can feel like a total trash fire to the point where we become lethargic. Lethargy makes us our own worst enemy; sometimes you have to kill a thing before you lose yourself to it completely.”

Impossible World features 12 tracks: Stay Melted, Long Way, Hellfire, Acetylene, Weather & Rose, Desire, Total War, Bad Faith, Outbreak, So Below, Slipstream, and Skorpio. Pre-orders are now available through the label's channels.

This announcement underscores the band's intent to navigate broader societal tensions through their music, potentially broadening their appeal while retaining raw energy.
